A more practical approach is to store larger ontologies in a database-backed RDF store (referred to here as an RDF database for brevity), and then query the model much as you would a database. However, is that really the most compelling need that end users have? Since RDF resources are typically large and written in technical and long terms, the eye-parsing scenario is not practical, and certainly hampers the whole utility of SPARQL. Number of RDF triples can easily grow into mil- lions or even billions for real-world applications, making it difficult to process efficiently with tradi- tional means. Yertle is fast enough to handle modest documents in many practical situations, but it isn't all that fast. Literals are usually abstract values and describing them in most cases is not necessary nor practical. In Workshop on Practical and Scalable Semantic Systems (PSSS), Sanibel Island, FL, 2003. (The feed is not currently syndicated by Planet RDF, so if you read my blog via Planet RDF and are interested in enterprise semantics, you should probably still sign up separately.) Here's just a taste of some of the content we've published in the first two months of After all, with lots of computing power and better database storage techniques it is now practical to analyze petabytes of data. Ontotext organises the workshop Practical Experiences with CIDOC CRM and its Extensions (CRMEX 2013), affiliated with the 17th International Conference on Theory and Practice of Digital Libraries (TPDL 2013). The workshop will be held on 26 September is pleased to announce the release of version 2.0. Jeen Broekstra and Arjohn Kampman. To better understand literals, one can make an analogy between the RDF model and the object-oriented (OO) model. Small wonder there is scarcely any deployment of practical RDF applications. LLD is a public RDF warehouse with an option for commercial support of the linked data cloud that provides free access to important biomedical databases. The Semantic Web has demonstrated considerable value for collaborative contributions to data. Inferencing and Truth Maintenance in RDF Schema: Exploring a naive practical approach. W3C announced today a RDF Validation Workshop – Practical Assurances for Quality RDF Data, 10-11 September 2013, in Cambridge, USA.
